JHT welcomes the announcement that the Queensland based Rheinmetall is the successful bidder for the Army's LAND400 Phase 2. The project will see the German company produce 225 light armoured vehicles to ensure our troops are well protected when in the field, whilst giving them added firepower. It is a major leap forward in force protection and lethality.
The project, worth around $5 billion, will have a significant effect on several SA based SME's, such as Axion, Redarc, Codan, Century Engineering, Entech, CAS and Toolcraft, and will lead to over 100 more SA jobs.
We congratulate Rheinmetall, but especially our local SME's - this is a great outcome for them.
